Tournaments are a fun way to earn rewards!
Tournament events will ask you to use or earn a certain item in the time period given. Each time you earn or use the required item(s) on a level, the number you've contributed to your total will be shown in the rewards pop-up.
To view your score, tap on the tournament badge in the top left of your screen to see your placement on the leaderboard. Your placement will be highlighted and you can view your score and your tournament player name.
Keep in mind that you have to be online when you win a level for the level’s points to count towards your tournament score.
Leagues
Based on your performance in the previous tournament you will be placed into one of the cup leagues for the tournament. The more prestigious the cup league, the better the prizes. Score very high within your league to be promoted to the higher league at the end of the current tournament.
Promotion and Demotion
As players participate in tournaments, they accumulate points based on their performance, such as how many levels they complete, how efficiently they complete them, and other metrics. At the end of a tournament, players are ranked within their league, and those who perform well can be promoted to a higher league.
-
Promotion: Players who consistently perform well will move up to a higher league at the end of the tournament. Moving up rewards players with better tournament rewards and access to higher-tier challenges.
-
Demotion: On the flip side, players who consistently underperform (usually those at the bottom ranks) will be demoted to a lower league. This is typically based on their placement in the tournament compared to other players in their league.
Associated Rewards
Each league comes with its own set of rewards. These rewards often include:
- Coins: The in-game currency to purchase power-ups or entry into higher-level tournaments.
- Special Boosters: Players in higher leagues may receive special boosters or items that make it easier to complete difficult levels.
- Exclusive Cosmetic Items: Some leagues offer exclusive skins or other cosmetic rewards that help personalize your game.
The rewards grow in quality and quantity as you progress through higher leagues, giving players an incentive to aim for those top spots.
Sub-Leagues and Their Functions
In addition to the main leagues, Gummy Drop! also introduces sub-leagues, which add an additional layer of competition and refinement. Sub-leagues are smaller, more specialized groupings within the larger league system. They exist to make the tournament experience feel even more personalized.
Promotion and Demotion in Sub-Leagues
Just like in the main leagues, players in sub-leagues can be promoted or demoted based on their tournament performance. The more you play, the more opportunities you have to climb the ladder and earn special rewards.
-
Promotion: Players who perform well in their sub-league and achieve high rankings can be moved to a higher sub-league, earning greater rewards and access to more challenging tournament content.
-
Demotion: Players who fall behind in their sub-league rankings may get demoted, which results in less challenging tournament tasks but also fewer rewards.
Associated Rewards for Sub-Leagues
Rewards for sub-leagues are often smaller or more specialized than those in the main leagues, but they are still valuable:
- Resource Boosts: Sub-league rewards can include extra resources, such as more energy or extra moves to help you progress in the game.
- Event Tickets: Some sub-leagues offer exclusive event tickets, which are used to enter special tournaments or unlock bonus challenges.
- Exclusive In-Game Currency: Sub-leagues can also offer in-game currency that is specific to those sub-groups, which can be used for tournament-related items or unlocking other in-game features.
A variant of the regular tournament where players are placed into teams and work together to score more goals than opposing teams. The best-performing teams earn the biggest prizes.
